Dykarna.nu describes itself as a site about diving, made by divers for divers. It is run by dykarna punkt nu AB and has been online since 1999. Members discuss diving courses, equipment, dive sites and trips, and the menu lists dive news, logbooks, dive sites, divers, a forum, a glossary, photo albums, web TV, a podcast, a calendar and a classifieds section called Torget. The homepage cites more than 280.000 dive photos, 390.000 dive logs, 410.000 forum posts and more than 200 classified ads, and shows how many visitors are online.

On advertising, the homepage carries an ANNONS slot, and the footer has an Annonsera link under Annonsering and Samarbete, next to a Sponsorer page. A page titled for companies that help finance the site explains that firms pay for articles and tips shared with members, and it lists several such articles. The site's ads.txt file lists one ad system, declared as direct.
