VOA Somali, whose tagline Codka Mareykanka means the voice of America, publishes news in Somali on Somalia, Africa, the United States and the wider world. The site carries sections for news, sport, listen and watch, and a series of programmes on culture and heritage, greetings and songs, an evening Washington show, a weekly analysis and the Learning English series.

Audio and video are central. The page offers live streams, three daily radio bulletins for the afternoon, morning and evening, a most-read list and programme archives with episodes numbered into the hundreds. Interview and call-in formats let listeners take part, and a women's forum and VOA60 news summaries sit alongside the main bulletins.

The pages reviewed describe no advertising options, ad spots, rates or audience figures.
