People's Daily Online is the English edition of People's Daily, publishing news on Chinese politics, foreign affairs, business, society, culture, science and technology, sport, travel and military affairs, alongside opinion pieces and video and photo coverage. The site is also published in other languages including Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Korean. Its coverage includes reporting from state news agency Xinhua, such as an account of the China International Fair for Trade in Services, which drew exhibitors from 90 countries, regions and international organizations, including 473 Fortune Global 500 firms.

Advertising on the site includes a rectangle ad format, priced by impression through an auction.
