The Moscow Times is an English-language independent news site covering Russia, including the war in Ukraine, domestic politics, business, opinion and regional reporting, alongside podcasts and multimedia projects such as Mothers & Daughters and Generation P.

The homepage states that the site disabled all ads as of July 1, 2024, a commitment it says costs $10,000 a month, relying instead on reader contributions. Its ads.txt file lists 168 ad-system lines, with 121 declared as direct sellers and 105 as resellers, naming sales houses including The Moneytizer, Triple 13 Ltd, ShowHeroes SE, Seedtag Advertising SL and Adpone SL.
