Patch publishes hyperlocal news, events and community discussion for around 30,000 U.S. communities, covering stories written by local journalists across all fifty states plus the District of Columbia, along with business and service listings, and lets residents post events and local goods and services near them.

Advertising on Patch offers customized digital media and sponsorship across a business's chosen local sites, exclusive ad placements, newsletter ads with daily exposure in a community, targeting by behavioural, demographic or geo-location factors, directory listings, branded content and social integration. Its ads.txt file lists 60 ad systems, with 39 sold directly and 45 through resellers, and sales houses named include MGID, Aditude, Spot.IM Inc. and EX.CO.
