Hard-right sites like Breitbart News that have been called a hate-news site exist and thrive in part because of programmatic advertising. The rise of such sites has put pressure on Google and Facebook to stop placing advertising on those sites, but there’s a long list of other programmatic and ad tech companies that in effect enable it by having business relationships with them, including content-recommendation engine Taboola and AOL’s Advertising.com.
