Gumtree operates a UK classifieds marketplace organized into cars and vehicles, items for sale, services, property, pets, jobs and community sections, each split into detailed subcategories such as car guides and reviews, home and garden, childcare, construction trades and marketing and PR roles, letting sellers post ads directly and buyers browse or search by location and category across the country.

Advertising formats include brand media advertising with display, native and takeover placements, featured and promoted listings, and programmatic display. Its ads.txt file lists 70 ad systems, 39 of them direct, with sales houses including Seedtag Advertising, Optima Network and Dexerto.
