A sponsored article is an article about the advertiser that the publisher runs on its own site, labelled as paid content.
How to place an ad
Publishers sell sponsored articles directly. The publisher's team writes the article from the advertiser's brief or publishes a text the advertiser supplies, and links to the advertiser's site carry rel="sponsored".
When to use it
A sponsored article usually stays online after the campaign ends, so it can keep bringing readers and search traffic. Domain authority and topic matter as much as traffic when comparing publishers.
Lead time
Usually one to three weeks, depending on who writes the article and how long the publisher's editorial review takes.
