Publishers offering "Category Takeover" spots

A category takeover gives your brand most or all of the ad positions on one category or section of a site for a set period. You might see your banners at the top, in the sidebar and between stories on Independent or Bike Hub.

How it's sold
Publishers such as Bike Hub, Goodereader and Psychiatrist.com sell it through their sales team, and Baidu Ads sells a similar brand zone through its own platform. Expect to agree dates and the section by email.
What it costs
Most publishers quote the price on request, and takeovers are usually priced as a flat fee per week or month for the section.
What you supply
You supply a full set of banner sizes, often including mobile, plus a landing page and sometimes a background skin.
Best for
It suits launches and campaigns where you want to dominate one audience's attention for a short stretch.
Before you buy
Ask for the category's monthly page views before you book, so you know what a flat fee is buying.
